About Hazy Paw Games Inc.

Founded in August of 2018, Hazy Paw is a video game development company that people seem to keep finding out about, even though we're really terrible at self-advertising and it’s not one of those things we get better at. Based mostly in reality and partly in Canada, we’re a team of two (and a talented musical consultant we can’t afford to pay yet, but he’s cool) with distinctly different backgrounds. Nick, a former accountant and incorrigible bassist, is an old-school gamer who grew up coding and is dedicated to reinventing, redesigning, and streamlining the building blocks of games; Kieran, a former baker, overseas teacher, and horse negotiator (it’s like hostage negotiating, just with a temperamental equine and a frightened passenger, and there wasn’t a lot of money in it), was late to get into gaming and is passionate about blurting out ideas and doing all the writing.

What We Think

We are a tiny company, and we’re very happy to do what we do. We believe that video games have a great deal to offer, and that the technology, creativity, and cohesive design that go into creating video games should always be geared towards making them work better for actual humans, not towards making them more marketable, arbitrarily challenging, or gimmicky. Video games can contribute to our shared perspective, help us learn technical skills, guide us through emotional challenges, and provide a healthy and supportive social environment, and at Hazy Paw we recognize that any aspect of a game that fails to be accessible, inclusive, or meet someone halfway is letting us all down.

We will always work to provide people with rewarding, positive, and unique experiences through our games. With an emphasis on communication and transparency, our projects are developed with nothing to hide, everything to discuss, and the hope that the gaming community will one day come to expect this standard, so that we can all stop having to pay eighty bucks a pop for the latest installments in tired, old franchises that have been neglecting us for years.
