I wouldn't have thought that it was a controversial statement, but I've been arguing with AI. It refuses to say that Hitler is evil. It won't say it because he's a politician.

This is frightening to me. It was willing to say he's a murderer and a fascist, but it wouldn't label him with the other word factually assigned to him. The natural consequence of being a murdering fascist is that you are summarily and objectively evil. But it won't say "Hitler is evil" no matter how much I try to reason with it.

Who's being protected by THAT, exactly? Are we concerned with maintaining some kind of gentle, positive spin on the reputation surrounding Nazi politicians? What? If a genocidal politician can't be considered evil, then who is? If HITLER SPECIFICALLY can't be categorized as evil by AI then what are we even doing with our tech?

It's up for debate again, isn't it? This is what we've come to. It's now offensive to openly encourage people and computers to call belligerent dictators evil, because it's somehow a personal opinion and no longer an established fact. I'm worried that AI can't afford to call Hitler evil because people now disagree with that by default. That's alarming as fuck. Reality can be jarring, I get it. Especially when history repeats itself. But surely we have to stick with the irrefutable data we've got and continue to conclude, at least as a baseline, that HITLER IS EVIL.

I have spruce gum I've been dying to try. I can't try it because I've been waiting for a filling to be replaced. It's the strangest and tiniest limitation but it's driving me nuts. I've been wanting to try spruce gum for ages and now I finally have some right here, but I can't chew on it yet. It's not exactly torture, but it's torturous, perhaps?

Here in BC, we've done our final swap. I'm glad we won't have to keep changing the clocks on the microwave and oven, but now we're going to be confusing to others. Well, more confusing.

It randomly snowed today, and it was beautiful. I like to think that it happened for my Nick's birthday.

Oh my goodness the Mac version is finally here!

An Asteroidea update has been released for Windows, Linux, & Mac



The new Unity input system should address technical issues with Mac (previously not available) and Linux versions.



Asteroidea is now more floppy and less likely to explode into pieces (although this is still very much a thing!) They have been re-rigged for a better overall structure in this heavily physics-based environment.
